Curtiss-Wright Switches to Zycus for Global Spend Visibility
PRINCETON, NJ- MAY 29, 2014 – Zycus, a world leader in Procurement Technology solutions across the source-to-pay cycle, announced today that Curtiss-Wright Corporation has selected its Spend Analysis solution.
Headquartered in Charlotte, N.C., Curtiss-Wright supplies the commercial, industrial, defense and energy markets with a broad range of highly engineered products and critical services through over one hundred locations across North America, Europe and Asia. “While Curtiss-Wright is quite experienced with spend analysis,” says Paul Stasko, “we want our specialized sourcing and category management personnel to focus their time and expertise solely on optimizing my supply chain and best-value procurement rather than managing routine classification and spend-reporting tasks. Zycus not only automates classification with high accuracy, it also enables the company to automate certain lower-level analytical activities according to our strategic parameters.”
Zycus will use the same spend-data extraction files already employed by Curtiss-Wright, and also will build out custom-hybrid classification taxonomy, covering both direct and indirect spending. This will empower Curtiss-Wright’s procurement and sourcing teams with more granular views of spending, essentially increasing analytical bandwidth without precipitating changes to existing internal processes.

“Corporations worldwide have emerged from the Great Recession with very lean personnel infrastructures,” observes Zycus CEO and founder Aatish Dedhia. “Savvy procurement leaders are pursuing – and accomplishing – relatively small investments in automation technology that pay off rapidly and handsomely when they free their procurement and sourcing talent to focus on high value-adding activities such as collaborative development with critical suppliers; supply-base rationalization and optimization; supplier performance improvement; supply-risk management; identification of parts standardization and value-analysis opportunities, and activities that support both competitive bidding on new business and improved performance of working capital.”
